Reducing Energy Consumption
Reducing Energy Consumption
A view of the Development
Sustainability

EnglishPoint Marina has incorporated best practise standards of sustainability currently available. Across the development this includes:

  • Central AC unit per apartment. 15 to 20% saving on energy consumption.
  • Solar hot water per apartment and the rest of the development
  • Grey water treatment and recycling. After treatment, this grey water will be pumped through a special circuit to all toilets for flushing. Will reduce the demand on fresh water by 50 to 60%
  • Black water treatment - eliminate raw sewage disposal. Will produce methane gas as a by-product and will be used in the hotel kitchens.
  • Wind turbines to supplement power from the National Grid.
  • Solar shading to eliminate effects of direct sunlight on apartments. Reduces the cost of cooling the apartments.
  • Solar reflective glass on doors and windows. Eliminate effects of direct sunlight on apartments, reducing the cost of cooling the apartments.
  • Solar shutters to eliminate effects of direct sunlight on apartments, reduces the cost of cooling the apartments.
  • Smooth white exterior finish to reflect the sun and reduce heat absorption to the building fabric.
