Sustainability
EnglishPoint Marina has incorporated best practise standards of sustainability currently available. Across the development this includes:
- Central AC unit per apartment. 15 to 20% saving on energy consumption.
- Solar hot water per apartment and the rest of the development
- Grey water treatment and recycling. After treatment, this grey water will be pumped through a special circuit to all toilets for flushing. Will reduce the demand on fresh water by 50 to 60%
- Black water treatment - eliminate raw sewage disposal. Will produce methane gas as a by-product and will be used in the hotel kitchens.
- Wind turbines to supplement power from the National Grid.
- Solar shading to eliminate effects of direct sunlight on apartments. Reduces the cost of cooling the apartments.
- Solar reflective glass on doors and windows. Eliminate effects of direct sunlight on apartments, reducing the cost of cooling the apartments.
- Solar shutters to eliminate effects of direct sunlight on apartments, reduces the cost of cooling the apartments.
- Smooth white exterior finish to reflect the sun and reduce heat absorption to the building fabric.
